Ankit Jain, former Managing Director of Dyson India, has launched Foundry, a Gurugram-based consumer technology startup focused on developing premium home appliances using proprietary technology.
The startup has also raised Rs 12 crore in a pre-seed equity funding round led by BEENEXT and Kettleborough VC, with participation from Rishubh Satiya of Plix, Anindita Sampath of Yogabar and Anita Pramoda of Owned Outcomes.
Foundry plans to introduce its first range of kitchen appliances in the second half of 2027, before expanding into other home appliance categories.
The startup said it will use the funding to develop its technology and strengthen product engineering ahead of the planned launch.
Foundry aims to develop premium home appliances by combining what it describes as proprietary, patent-pending technology with original industrial design, engineering and carefully selected materials.
The startup wants to move beyond the conventional approach of developing appliances as standalone machines designed to perform individual functions. Instead, it intends to rethink how appliances are engineered, how they work together and how technology can improve their usefulness over time.
According to the reports, it is currently developing prototypes and building its core engineering team, while manufacturing plans will be addressed at a later stage.
Jain brings more than two decades of experience in global consumer businesses to his new venture.
He spent nine years at Dyson, holding leadership positions across India, Hong Kong, the Middle East and Africa, including serving as Managing Director of Dyson India.
During his tenure, he helped build and expand Dyson's premium consumer appliances business in India.
