SpotOn, the US provider of restaurant software and payment services, has brought in AiPrise to verify the identities of the business owners joining its platform, a move aimed at closing the gap between fast onboarding and knowing exactly who is accepting payments.
Under the arrangement, AiPrise will establish who stands behind each restaurant that signs up with SpotOn. Its process cross-references individuals with government records and runs them through international watchlist screening, completing both steps within a single workflow. This gives SpotOn assurance about the identity of its restaurant partners before any of them begin processing transactions.
For a company supplying payments and software to restaurants, bringing new merchants aboard happens in large volumes, and each one carries the need to confirm the people involved. The challenge for SpotOn lies in making those checks precise while ensuring a newly opening restaurant is not held back by the process.
SpotOn develops the software and payment tools that restaurants across the US rely on to operate day to day. The firm serves an industry defined by hectic service periods and tight margins, where the technology underpinning operations has to match that pace. Rapid verification of each new partner forms part of how SpotOn supports that model.
AiPrise said it was pleased to support SpotOn’s work in keeping restaurants running and formally welcomed the company as a client.
SpotOn chief compliance officer Lisa Lechner said, “Our restaurant partners want to be up and running fast, and we need to be certain who we’re working with to keep their accounts secure from day one.
