Police have questioned six witnesses in an investigation into MyEG and Zetrix AI over their alleged failure to remit RM230.9 million in government revenue collected for the Road Transport Department (JPJ), Free Malaysia Today reported.
Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, director of the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), said police opened the investigation under Section 409 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust following a report received on 7 October.
Police have obtained relevant documents for examination and plan to question more individuals as the investigation continues.
Rusdi also urged the public to avoid speculation and sharing unverified information that could affect the investigation.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said on 13 October it would cooperate with police and share information on the case. It had received an official complaint the previous week and said police would refer any evidence of corruption for further action.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook previously disclosed that MyEG and Zetrix owed JPJ RM314 million in unremitted collections, exceeding the RM230.9 million under police investigation.
Loke said JPJ had issued Zetrix 35 notices demanding payment. The company also submitted a RM231 million cheque, but the bank later informed JPJ that it could not process the payment following instructions from Zetrix.
JPJ suspended both companies as its collection agents from 5 October. Motorists can continue making payments through the MyJPJ app, JPJ public portal, counters and kiosks.
G. Services Bhd, confirmed that it owed JPJ RM314 million in collections from May to September 2026.
