“Argon excels at deep work in complex, real-world tasks across domains including coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity and science,” Google said in the post.
Google announced Gemini 4 Argon in a Sept. 30 blog post, saying the company was initially releasing the model to a set of trusted cyber defenders before releasing it to developers, enterprises and consumers who are paid application programming interface (API) customers or Google AI Ultra subscribers.
Early users of Argon have used the model to solve major engineering problems, optimize business workflows, find and patch cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and enable novel breakthroughs in quantum computing, nuclear fusion and life sciences, according to the Tuesday blog post.
“At Google, we’ve been using Argon on our hardest engineering problems,” the company said. “Over the past few weeks, software engineers have been shipping high-quality code faster than ever.”

For safety and security, Argon is equipped with misuse and jailbreak defenses; agent alignment and real-time monitoring; and prompt injection resistance, per the post.
Google rolled out Argon globally on Tuesday. Cybersecurity defenders can apply to join the Fairwind Program to get access to the model without cyber guardrails on a rolling basis, the post said.
