Hedge was founded in 2021 by Kyle Al-Rawi and Yash Khandelwal to serve retail investors seeking access to exchange-listed stocks and ETFs. Closing is subject to the expiry of a standard notice period and FINRA approval under Rule 1017. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
Plus500 already operates a sizeable CFTC-regulated US business, providing clearing and execution for futures and prediction markets to retail and institutional clients. That operation, itself a 2021 acquisition, generates an established revenue base but is confined to derivative products. Hedge’s SEC registration unlocks the adjacent and considerably larger equity and ETF market, which sits at the centre of US retail investment volumes.
The immediate commercial objective is the planned Q1 2027 launch of a unified US multi-asset platform, which the company is calling a super-app. The product would consolidate futures, prediction markets, stocks, options and ETFs into a single application, removing the need for retail customers to maintain accounts across multiple providers. Plus500 says the platform will also eventually extend to other geographies, though no timeline was given.
Chief executive David Zruia described the acquisition as a pivotal step in the group’s US journey. “With our new hub in New York and the experienced Hedge team joining us, we have the people, licences and technology to accelerate our growth and generate sustainable, long-term returns for our shareholders,” he said.
To support the expanded US footprint, Plus500 has established a New York office to work alongside its existing Chicago operations. Senior executives with US market experience will lead the hub, reinforced by Hedge personnel who bring securities-specific regulatory knowledge.
