PAX and Wink Enable Enterprise Merchants to Design Their Own Biometric Enrollment and Checkout

PAX Technology, Inc., one of the world’s largest payment terminal providers, and Wink, the multimodal biometric identity and payments platform, today announced a deeper integration of Wink biometric checkout into PAX PxRetailer, the application designed for enterprise and multilane environments, and PxDesigner, the customization and design tool for retailers and solution providers to customize what appears on the payment device and how the customer interacts with it. Enterprise brands in quick service, hospitality, retail, and entertainment can now design every screen of face and palm checkout, from first enrollment to final confirmation, and deploy it on every camera-enabled PAX device, including the revolutionary PCI 7 Retail PIN pads, A360 and A380, through PAX, with no separate biometrics integration to build.

Most in-store payments are anonymous. A card is tapped, a sale is made, and the customer walks out a stranger. Biometrics can change that, but enterprise brands have had to choose between a vendor’s off-the-shelf screens at the most visible moment of the visit and a custom integration project for every lane type. With Wink fully integrated and available in PxRetailer and PxDesigner, the brand designs the experience, and PAX delivers it to the devices already at the counter.

“Today, the merchant sells to a card, not a customer,” said Matt Marino, President, WinkPay, “With Wink, the anonymous cardholder becomes a known customer, with no card, phone, app or manual data entry needed at the counter. Merchants get faster lanes and greater loyalty. Customers receive a faster, more personalized experience.
