“Over the last decade, value creation has shifted increasingly toward private markets… IPOs have become exit points, rather than entry points…” David Shapiro, Co-Founder and CEO of OpenVC.
Fund II, which provides institutional grade index exposure to the top 20 U.S. pre-IPO companies, builds on the success of the inaugural OPEN Unicorn® Fund (“Fund I”). Fund I successfully closed following strong demand from family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and Registered Investment Advisors. The first fund was also offered through iCapital Marketplace, signifying growing investor interest in systematic exposure to private companies that are staying private for longer.
“Fund I validated the demand for a more disciplined and transparent approach to accessing leading private market companies,” said David Shapiro, Co-Founder and CEO of OpenVC®. “Fund II builds on that foundation, providing advisors with diversified exposure to 20 leading U.S. pre-IPO companies through a rules-based, index-driven strategy.”
Fund II reflects OpenVC’s broader initiative to develop investable benchmarks that bridge public and private markets. With increasing investor demand for exposure to venture-backed innovation, OpenVC® aims to deliver scalable solutions that align with how modern companies grow and remain private for longer periods.
“Over the last decade, value creation has shifted increasingly toward private markets,” added Shapiro.
