Legal AI has become one of venture capital’s defining AI bets. Harvey and Legora have shown investors what happens when AI is applied to expensive, judgement-heavy legal work. Now UK startup Resolutiion believes the same shift is about to hit a much larger and more fragmented part of the enterprise — one that's further upstream in delivery.
Founded by Fayola-Maria Jack, Resolutiion has raised more than $10.4m to date, backed by funds and strategic investors including LocalGlobe, Cherry Ventures, Octopus Ventures and Chevron Technology Ventures, as well as the European Union.
The company is building what it calls Risk-to-Resolution infrastructure (R2R), a new category of AI infrastructure spanning emerging risk through conflict, cost management and ultimately resolution.
Jack is not new to the problem she is solving. She established the UK government’s first Dispute Resolution Practice and Lloyds Banking Group's Disputes Centres of Excellence as well as co-authored the UK Government Outsourcing Playbook and undertook doctoral research in dispute resolution and behavioural science.
Before founding Resolutiion she held roles spanning Collins Aerospace, the Royal Air Force, the Cabinet Office and Honeywell. “I’m focused on building a generational company,” Jack says. “I absolutely believe the next trillion-dollar technology company will come out of Europe. ” Tilly Fleming, investor at Octopus Ventures adds: “Fay combines incredibly deep domain expertise with the ambition to completely rethink how an industry operates. She has an incredible drive and conviction in what she is building.
