Narmi, a provider of digital banking technology for financial institutions, has extended its Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities to Microsoft 365 Copilot. The move gives banks and credit unions secure access to customer financial information within the administrative workflows their staff already use.
With the new connector, employees at financial institutions can ask questions in plain language to pull up customer details, handle fraud queries, evaluate lending and liquidity activity, and keep track of transactions.
The launch follows the debut of Narmi’s AI Marketplace and continues the firm’s push to embed practical AI into everyday banking. Staff no longer need to assemble reports by hand or move between separate systems. Instead, Copilot can give them a fuller picture of a customer’s finances, help gauge borrowing needs and highlight ways to deepen existing relationships.
Because Microsoft 365 is already common across the banking sector, the connector lets institutions bring customer data into familiar enterprise software without adding new platforms or complexity. It supports several back-office areas.
In relationship management, staff can examine account activity, spot large transfers to other institutions and find growth opportunities. For lending and liquidity, they can analyse cash flow, track credit line usage and review loan applications. Operations and risk teams can study transaction histories, flag unusual payments and assist fraud investigations. Onboarding teams can check application statuses and monitor progress.
The Copilot Connector server links Microsoft 365 Copilot to Narmi’s administrative banking platform, so employees only see information they are authorised to view under existing institutional permissions.
