Grab, OpenAI Roll Out ChatGPT Training for Thai Drivers and Merchants

Grab and OpenAI are rolling out ChatGPT training for more than 3,000 drivers, riders and merchants in Thailand.

The initiative, called GO Forward with AI, forms part of a regional partnership to equip more than 30,000 Grab drivers, riders and merchants across Southeast Asia with practical AI skills.

The programme will cover customer communication, financial budgeting and the use of AI for business and marketing activities.

Participants attending in-person workshops will receive three months of complimentary ChatGPT Plus access.

“To further advance our commitment to developing AI skills across our ecosystem, we have partnered with OpenAI this year to introduce ChatGPT courses tailored specifically for Grab drivers and merchants.

Delivered through GrabAcademy, merchants will learn to leverage customer insights to create compelling marketing campaigns, while drivers and delivery riders will explore new and creative ideas that unlock supplemental income.”

Its GrabMerchant AI Assistant is used by more than 275,000 merchants to analyse business data and support planning.

Its Driver AI Assistant was developed using OpenAI technology and has been adopted by 120,000 drivers since September.

GrabAcademy will also offer courses on personal finance, investing, affiliate marketing and basic first aid.

The training materials will be made available as short online courses through the Grab Driver App.
