Beady AI, a provider of risk intelligence software, has launched a due diligence and portfolio monitoring service designed for venture capital firms, private equity funds and other investment funds. The service combines pre-investment screening of founders and target companies with daily monitoring of portfolio companies and their management for the duration of the investment.
For most funds, background checks on founders and companies are carried out once, during the deal process, and are rarely repeated after the investment is made. Beady’s due diligence and portfolio monitoring for venture and investment funds is intended to give investors visibility into risks that develop over the holding period. These include litigation involving a founder, a sanctions designation or a change in a company’s ownership.
“Investors spend a great deal of time evaluating a company before they invest, but much less time tracking what happens to it afterwards,” said a spokesperson for Beady AI. “We built this service so funds can keep the same level of scrutiny in place after the deal closes. It also gives them a clear record of their diligence to share with their investment committee and their LPs.”

To run a check, users enter the name of a founder, company or fund, and no documents are needed. Beady screens the name against global sanctions lists, including those maintained by OFAC, the EU, the UN and UK HMT. It also checks politically exposed person databases, criminal and most-wanted lists, court records and adverse media.
