Xpeng launches G9L SUV in Europe as monthly overseas sales top 10,000 for first time

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) launched its flagship G9L SUV in Europe on Monday, the opening day of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, expanding its overseas lineup as exports surge.

The G9L starts at 74,990 euros ($83,820) in France, 74,600 euros in Germany and 74,990 euros in Belgium. Starting prices in Austria and the Netherlands are 75,600 euros and 75,990 euros, respectively.

The European model is an all-electric vehicle available in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, differing from the 5-seat version sold in China.

The G9L went on sale in China on September 17 as a flagship family SUV, offering battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options.

The Chinese version measures 5,120 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,782 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. Rear-seat space and comfort features are among its main selling points.

The European launch follows progress in local production. Xpeng previously announced that its first locally built G9L in Europe completed trial production on October 7 at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria.

The G9L became Xpeng's fourth model to enter local production in Europe, joining the G6 SUV, G9 SUV and P7+ sedan at the plant.

Xpeng began local production in Europe in September 2025, using existing facilities operated by Magna's contract manufacturing unit Magna Steyr to gradually expand its locally assembled lineup.

The earlier trial-production announcement did not disclose when mass production or deliveries of the G9L would begin in Europe. Xpeng said it plans to bring the model to 64 countries and regions worldwide.
