Tsuyo Ties up with China’s LvKON for Electric Drive Systems

Indian electric powertrain maker Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. has announced a technical collaboration with Suzhou Lvkon Transmission Technology Co., Ltd. (LvKON), a Chinese company that specialises in electric drive systems for new energy commercial vehicles. The two firms have worked together for the past five years. The new tie-up aims to strengthen Tsuyo’s position in India’s growing electric commercial vehicle market.

Tsuyo will bring its manufacturing presence in India, its engineering capabilities and its relationships with Indian vehicle makers. LvKON will bring product engineering expertise and experience in commercial vehicle drivetrains. Together, they aim to build reliable, efficient electric drive systems for Indian trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles.

Tsuyo is also planning a new factory on about 24 acres. The company describes it as an integrated platform for electric powertrain engineering, manufacturing, testing and product validation. The collaboration is expected to focus on electric motors, transmissions, integrated drive systems and electronic controls, backed by testing facilities and after-sales service.

LvKON is expected to support Tsuyo in product engineering, design validation, manufacturing processes, testing systems and after-sales infrastructure. This is meant to help Tsuyo shorten development time, improve product maturity and prepare for large-scale production.

Mr. Vijay Kumar, Founder and CEO, Tsuyo Manufacturing, said, “LvKON brings established expertise in electric drive systems for new energy commercial vehicles, with capabilities spanning drive motors, transmissions, control systems, and integrated product development.
