Bengaluru-based social gaming startup Matiks has raised $10 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Ronnie Screwvala and existing investors Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners and Untitled Ventures.
The fresh capital will be used to expand its international presence, develop new games and social experiences, and launch an AI-powered game creation platform that will allow users to build and publish games without coding.
Founded in 2024 by Sudhanshu Bhatia, Sushant and Mohan, Matiks started as a mental maths game and has since expanded into a social gaming platform offering games across mathematics, memory, logic and puzzles. The platform allows users to compete against friends, participate in daily challenges and track their progress.
In September 2026, 2.2 million users played 48 million games on the platform. Its daily active users have more than doubled since June to over 300,000, with the company also seeing early traction in markets such as Japan, the US and South Korea.
The company recently launched SNAC, an endless feed of single-player puzzles, which has contributed to longer user sessions, according to Matiks.
Matiks plans to initially focus on the US market before expanding into other major international markets. It will also invest in engineering, artificial intelligence, product development, game design and growth.
The company is also developing an AI-powered game creation engine that will enable users to create, publish and share their own brain games across multiple formats.
