Just because the trails become covered in snow doesn't mean the fun has to stop. That's why Toyota is introducing a lineup of concept vehicles prepped for winter weather supremacy.
You know the Trailhunter team. Now it's time to meet the Snowhunter family. Toyota has taken the Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Sequoia and given each a camo-clad makeover for hostile weather conditions. Each one offers a unique take on a shared formula.
All of the vehicles wear Snowhunter camouflage livery, white powder-coated snow tracks, gloss black trim, Rigid auxiliary lights, and a lift to make sure you can clear the snow and so the tracks don't run the bodywork.
Toyota says the Tundra Snowhunter Concept serves as a mobile base camp. In the bed, the TrailLift Pro Rack System has a burly frame with all sorts of storage options. The upper portion of the rack can articulate to facilitate loading and unloading heavier gear. There's extra lighting up top, as well.
The Tacoma Snowhunter is designed with greater exploration in mind. Its smaller footprint allows better access to more places. There's a large WeBoost antenna mounted up high to keep you in contact with the outside world. The roof rack offers ample storage and an awning, while the bed rack features MOLLE panels and recovery boards.
Building on a similar idea as the Tacoma, the 4Runner Snowhunter adds a Thule cargo box for even more storage options. Toyota also fits more protective elements under the 4Runner so you don't get hung up on any snow-hidden obstacles you might encounter in the backcountry.
