The Volkswagen ID.4 Just Got Up to $12,500 Cheaper in America

It’s a sad day whenever a car manufacturer decides to discontinue an electric model, but there’s no denying that the move often comes with a big benefit: substantial discounts for cars left in inventory.

That’s exactly what’s happening right now with the Volkswagen ID.4, which is going out of production at the brand’s Chattanooga plant in Tennessee to make room for more gas-powered SUVs.

The German automaker is slashing up to $12,500 off ID.4 EVs left in inventory across the country, turning the perfectly average crossover into a great deal. The massive price cut only applies to the 2025 ID.4, with “very limited inventory available,” according to Volkswagen.

Before the pitchforks come out in the comments section, everyone should know that the 2025 ID.4 is identical to the latest version, so you’re not giving anything up in terms of performance or features. Yes, it’s already one year old, but it’s still a new car at a great price.

But there’s more. If you absolutely want the latest model year, Volkswagen is also slashing the 2026 ID.4’s price by $6,000, which should make everyone happy.

The discount can be applied when leasing or purchasing with cash through participating dealers through November 2, and it’s only available for private customers. Bear in mind that not all dealers will advertise the Customer Bonus, so make sure you ask for it when shopping around.

It’s also worth noting that 2025 models, which can benefit from the bigger discount, are rarer than 2026 models, but I still managed to find a couple of them on VW’s website, and the final price is under $40,000.
