Tesla offers almost $3,000 off Model Y inventory, in yet another price cut to attract new sales

Tesla has started offering nearly $3,000 off the prices of Australia’s best-selling EV, the Model Y, for in-stock vehicles.

On Tesla’s website, Model Y vehicles in multiple states are now showing $2,950 off the driveaway prices, with each listing showing the amount that the car is reduced by.

At the time of writing, Model Y vehicles in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC and TAS were showing various in-stock configurations, providing almost a 5% discount off the regular price.

On top of that, there is also a current trade-in bonus of $2,000 applied to the vehicle if an older vehicle is traded in as part of the new Model Y purchase.

This additional trade-in discount also applies when ordering Model 3 vehicles until the end of 2026.

Alll new purchases of Model 3 vehicles will also come with Tesla’s recently upgraded 5-year unlimited km warranty for any buyers who get into a car as of the beginning of 2026.

That’s up from the previous 4-year or 80,000 km warranty on offer and, according to Tesla Australia, is a global first to be offered in a market where Tesla vehicles are sold.

Locally, Tesla offers the Model Y in four variants, including Premium RWD, Premium AWD Long Range, AWD 6-seater L, and AWD Performance.

The Model 3 sedan comes in three variants: Premium RWD, Premium RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance.

Pricing of the RWD Model Y single-motor starts at $58,900 and goes to $84,900 for the Performance variant, before on-road costs.

Similarly, the Model 3 sees its pricing range from $45,900 for the recently launched entry-level model, all the way to $80,900 before on-road costs for the Performance variant.
