Tesla dropped a fresh teaser for the second-generation Roadster this week, and the image is doing exactly what a teaser should, raising questions without answering them. The clip zeroes in on a full-width LED light bar up front, seven days before the car's scheduled October 1 reveal in Waco, Texas.

The timing is not an accident. Tesla also confirmed it has started building Semi trucks in volume, a milestone Elon Musk has been promising since the truck's original 2017 unveiling. Two very different products, one busy week for Tesla's production and marketing calendars.

The teaser itself is short on hardware detail and long on mood, a sliver of that LED bar glowing across the nose of a car still wrapped in shadow. It is consistent with Tesla's October 1 reveal date, confirmed weeks earlier, but it adds nothing about interior layout, battery size, or final styling.

What Musk has talked about publicly is stranger than any styling cue. He has floated SpaceX-derived cold-gas thrusters for the Roadster, with reports pointing to roughly 10 units mounted where rear seats would normally sit, meant to aid acceleration and cornering by manipulating airflow and weight transfer.

None of that is confirmed as production-ready. Musk has discussed the thruster concept in public over the past year, but Tesla has not published specifications, a price, or a delivery timeline tied to the feature. Treat it as a stated ambition.

Tesla has, however, put a number on getting in line, a $50,000 refundable deposit , reopened after a brief pause.
