The limited Couture Edition of the Smart #2 - Smart's electric successor to the Fortwo - sold out across Europe within 14 days. From Q2 of 2027, the 2.75-meter-long two-seater will hit the roads at a price of €19,990 euros.
In recent years, Smart’s shift towards heavier, more spacious electric SUVs has moved the brand far from its roots. With the Smart #2, the Geely-Mercedes-Benz joint venture has now returned to its origins, unveiling the successor to the Smart Fortwo. Order books opened on 13 October – and, as the brand reports, with resounding success.
The positive response to the start of pre-orders confirms that the market has been waiting for this return. The Couture Edition, limited to 999 units, sold out across all European markets within 14 days of the order launch on 13 October 2026.
“The demand for the Couture Edition shows that the Smart #2 strikes an emotional chord. A special model selling out before it even hits the road only happens with a vehicle that truly excites people. For us in Germany, this is a strong start. This vote of confidence is a huge motivation for us, and we will carry this momentum forward to bring the Smart #2 to the roads as quickly as possible in 2027,” commented Florian Nemitz, CEO of Smart Deutschland.
The price for the Couture Edition starts at €25,690 and includes comprehensive equipment based on the Premium line. This includes a panoramic glass roof, a Sennheiser audio system, heated seats and steering wheel, a smartphone charging pad, and a navigation system.
