JSW Greentech targets ₹15,000 crore revenue as electric truck and bus push gathers pace

JSW Greentech is targeting about ₹15,000 crore in annual revenue as it expands AMPSTAR electric trucks and buses. The business is banking on captive demand, localisation, fleet financing and lower operating costs to persuade outside customers to adopt electric commercial vehicles.

JSW Group ’s push into electric commercial vehicles is moving from pilot stage to a broader industrial play, with the business setting its sights on a topline of about ₹15,000 crore once the platform reaches scale. The ambition rests not just on selling trucks and buses, but on building a new operating model around fleet contracts, financing, charging and after-sales support.

The Hindu BusinessLine reported that JSW Greentech expects its AMPSTAR range to draw early demand from the group’s own steel, cement and infrastructure operations, while also opening the door to logistics companies, industrial customers and government buyers. The company is positioning the business as a long-term bet on India’s transition to cleaner freight and passenger transport, even as the market for heavy electric vehicles is still in its early innings.

At full utilisation of its 15,000-unit plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar , JSW Greentech expects vehicle sales alone to contribute roughly ₹12,000 crore in annual revenue, chief executive Sumit Mittal said. After-sales services could add another ₹2,000 crore to ₹3,000 crore, taking the potential total close to ₹15,000 crore.
