NX Technologies develops inverters for light electric vehicles

NX Technologies, a specialist in EV power electronics, aims to develop a series of innovative inverters for light electric vehicles. NX Technologies has now received a funding grant from Spain’s PERTE program - amounting to €1.9 million for the R&D project, which is set to run through 2029.

NX Technologies, based in San Sebastián, Spain, specialises in compact traction systems for EVs. Through its initial internationalisation efforts, the company has already expanded its business to the Netherlands, France, the UK, India, and the USA. However, Spain remains the focal point for the e-mobility specialist, which is why NX Technologies has now qualified for PERTE funding there.

The €1.9 million will be invested in the research and development of a next-generation traction inverter for light electric vehicles. The project, running from 2026 to 2029, is part of the fifth call for proposals under PERTE VEC, the industrial policy funding strand of the Spanish PERTE subsidies.

NX Technologies states that it is embarking on the R&D project amid a significant growth phase. Since its founding, the company has raised over €10 million in public and private funding and invested €5.2 million in research and development, it reports. Additionally, its team of around 40 employees grew by 50 per cent last year.

The company emphasises that it develops and manufactures all its products entirely in Europe.
