Infineon and Qualcomm collaborate on central computing for software-defined vehicles

Infineon Technologies and Qualcomm Technologies have signed a technology agreement to develop a microcontroller-based subsystem for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride reference platforms, designed for high-performance computing computers in software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and in-vehicle AI. The collaboration combines Qualcomm’s system-on-chips (SoCs) with Infineon’s expertise in safety management, connectivity and memory management. The companies aim to simplify the deployment of central vehicle computers integrating driver assistance, automated driving and digital cockpit functions.

“With Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride, we enable the automotive industry to build and scale a new generation of car computers that combine tremendous computing and AI capabilities with the reliability required on the road,” said Peter Schiefer, president of the automotive division at Infineon.
