Ferrari Announces Luce Pricing, and It’s Less than Initially Expected

Ferrari’s first electric car will cost about $80k less than initially expected, but it’s still by far the most expensive five-seater production car on the market.

Love it or hate it, the Ferrari Luce has been an attention-grabbing addition to the luxury car world since its reveal earlier this year. Designed in collaboration with ex-Apple designer Jony Ive and industrial designer Marc Newson, the electric five-seater brings a brand new visual language to Ferrari’s lineup. Now Ferrari has officially released pricing for the Luce, and it costs significantly less than originally expected.

Ferrari’s first EV will start at $560,800, which is about $80,000 less than what we had estimated based on European pricing when it was revealed. Still, it’s the most expensive five-seater production car on the market today, exceeding the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in its highest trim by about $50,000.

There’s a lot packed into the Luce’s controversial package. Four electric motors make 1035 horsepower, with one motor assigned to each wheel. Despite having paddle shifters, the Luce has no transmission, so the paddles are used for on-demand torque and regenerative braking adjustments.

5 seconds, and the Luce’s 122-kWh battery is expected to provide about 280 miles of range by EPA standards. The Luce is claimed to have a lower drag coefficient than Ferrari’s other road cars, and it sits about two inches longer and two inches lower than the Purosangue SUV.
