Moke International unveiled the second generation of its electric beach car, the Electric Moke Mk2, at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, where it's on display through October 18. The British-built, open-air runabout gets a larger battery, a relocated charging port and a new front storage compartment, part of a broader refresh that keeps the car's original stripped-down look intact.
The Mk2 replaces a 10.8-kilowatt-hour pack with a 23.5-kWh unit. That stretches WLTP-rated range to 106 miles from 54 miles on the outgoing model. Moke International says real-world coastal and city driving can push that figure to around 115 miles.
The Mk2 keeps the same rear-mounted 44-horsepower electric motor as its predecessor despite the range gain. Acceleration and top speed aren't expected to improve. Top speed remains capped at 50 mph, in keeping with the car's role as a low-speed resort and beach vehicle.
Charging comes from a 6.6-kW onboard charger that takes the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in about two hours. A standard 3.2-kW household outlet in the US or UK takes roughly seven hours for a full charge, a tradeoff the company describes as acceptable given how most Mk2 buyers will use the car.
The charging port itself has moved to the rear of the vehicle, a change the automaker says tidies up the car's exterior. The new layout also redistributes weight across the chassis, which Moke says improves handling.
Lorne Vary, chief executive officer at Moke International, tied the update to the brand's broader identity.
