Ekoenergetyka powers new MCS charging hub for heavy-duty transport in France

Voltix, a VINCI Concessions subsidiary, has opened a public charging hub for electric heavy-duty vehicles in Vierzon, France. Located at the intersection of the A20, A71 and A85 motorways, the site serves a major road freight corridor.

The Vierzon site, Voltix’s first heavy-duty EV charging hub in France, uses Ekoenergetyka’s Axon Charger technology, which supports the new Megawatt Charging System (MCS). MCS technology enables electric trucks to recharge in approximately 30 to 45 minutes, allowing charging during drivers’ required rest breaks and supporting long-distance operations.

The charging hub uses a split configuration that combines four Axon Sat MCS satellites and four Axon Side DLBS units to provide four charging points. Each charger has both CCS and MCS connectors. Using MCS, each can deliver up to 1.5 megawatts of power.

Ekoenergetyka co-founder Maciej Wojeński said: “With charging power designed to meet the requirements of electric trucks, MCS enables charging solutions tailored to the operational needs of long-distance and heavy-duty transport.”
