Zooplus marketplace launches in Spain

German online pet supply store Zooplus has expanded its marketplace to Spain. The Spanish platform went live with 10,000 new products. It is the third market where Zooplus has expanded its marketplace model to.

In 2024, Zooplus already announced that it had plans to launch a pan-European marketplace, in order to expand its product range in breadth and depth. Brands that have a business entity and VAT number in the European Union can register as partner seller. They also need to hold stock in the EU.

For partner sellers, joining the marketplace is a way to reach Zooplus’ 10 million customers quickly. And Zooplus can expand its product range with these new brands. The marketplace first started in France. In August this year, the platform also went live in Germany. Now, it has also launched in Spain.

Spanish online sellers can join the marketplace and their products will be shown in all three markets where it is active. According to the company, the Spanish marketplace already offers 10,000 new products.

Zooplus also mentioned that since launching in Germany, the company has tripled the marketplace selection and more than doubled the amount of partner sellers. Additionally, across all marketplaces, the amount of product categories has almost quadrupled.

‘Our new category fresh and frozen has become the top-selling marketplace category’

“We are unlocking categories we know pet parents really want, like fresh and frozen food. In fact, fresh and frozen has become our top-selling marketplace category in Germany and France and now represents more than 10 percent of German marketplace sales”, said Pierre-Yves Delforge, Chief Merchandising Officer at Zooplus.
