The fashion designer is officially launching the collaboration he teased during his spring 2027 ready-to-wear presentation last June.
The American fashion designer, who is of Mexican and Irish descent, has joined forces with Mexico-based fragrance house Xinú to reimagine the vessel of its FlordeMusgo candle.
The candle, one of six offered by Xinú in addition to its range of eaux de parfum and body care products, is infused with notes of lime, cedarwood, tuberose and moss. Priced at $120 and launching Sunday, Chavarria’s limited-edition version encases the candle in a black ceramic vessel — versus its original white one — and features a custom Willy Chavarria medallion.
“I’ve been a longtime admirer of the graceful connection between Xinú fragrances and nature, the spirit and the soul of Mexico,” said Chavarria in a statement. “I hope this fragrance transcends others into the forests and the sky, as it does for me.”
During his spring 2027 show in June titled “Communión,” Chavarria teased the collaboration, scenting the presentation with the FlordeMusgo candle ahead of its November launch. Over the last few years, the designer’s label, launched in 2015, has become a rising star in menswear, known for blending Chicano culture with social and political commentary. Chavarria’s past collaborations have included linkups with Ugg, Zara, and an ongoing partnership with Adidas.
Xinú, launched in 2017 by Verónica Peña, Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena, is similarly a rising star in the niche fragrance world. In 2025, The Estée Lauder Cos. took a stake in the brand, which operates a number of boutiques across Mexico and is opening its first international store in Tokyo this year.
