Short Takes: Skyler Gisondo’s First Fashion Campaign, Tie Bar’s ’70s Vibe and More

HOLIDAY CHAOS: Bonobos has tapped actor Skyler Gisondo to be the face of its holiday campaign.

Known for his role in A24’s “Primetime,” this marks the 30-year-old’s first fashion campaign.

Gisondo brings a humorous touch to Bonobos’s “Dashing Through the Holidays” theme, passing a store-bought pie off as homemade, rehearsing an introduction to his in-laws and other tongue-in-cheek scenes. In each of the skits and in print images, he wears pieces from the company’s holiday assortment, including limited-edition sweaters, chinos, a wool overcoat, velvet blazer and pant.

“The holidays always seem to come with a busy schedule and a bit of chaos,” Gisondo said. “This campaign captures that, by poking a little fun at the things we all do to try to make the holidays go smoothly.”

“There’s a lot that goes into the holidays, but at the end of the day, it’s about having fun and feeling good,” added Joe Berean, chief marketing officer of Bonobos. “Skyler brings that spirit to the campaign with a sense of humor that makes these moments feel familiar. Our holiday assortment builds on that same idea, with pieces that make it easy to get dressed, feel confident and enjoy the moment, no matter what it brings.”

SEVENTIES STYLE: The Tie Bar has created a capsule inspired by Searchlight Pictures’ “Wild Horse Nine.”

The collection, which will debut Friday when the film has its theatrical release, features the retro colors and patterns of the early 1970s. “Wild Horse Nine” is a black comedy political thriller set shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup and features John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell as CIA agents sent to Easter Island.
