Mastercard and BVNK have launched Mastercard Global Money Platform, a product that combines fiat and stablecoin functions through a single API.
The launch is the first major integration between the two businesses since Mastercard acquired BVNK in August 2026.
The platform is aimed at banks, fintechs and large companies that want to add multi-currency accounts, conversion tools, card issuing and payout services to their own products. It can also be used for treasury management, payments and settlement. Customers can choose only the modules they need rather than stitch together several providers.
At the centre of the offer is what the companies describe as a global money account. It is designed to hold fiat currencies and stablecoins in the same account, with conversion between the two available through a single integration.
The platform also includes Mastercard Move, the company's money transfer service, which reaches more than 17 billion endpoints. This allows users to make local-currency payments into bank accounts using stablecoin balances, with coverage expected to extend to more than 40 currencies across more than 200 countries and territories in 2027.
Customers will also be able to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard's card-acceptance network, and the platform will offer card issuing in more than 130 countries. The service is available now through BVNK.
Several fintech groups are among the first customers planning to integrate the platform, including Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group and Almond FinTech.
The companies are targeting a problem businesses face when collecting and disbursing money across multiple markets.
