Dabur India Ltd. on Wednesday announced a leadership transition, appointing Herjit Bhalla as Whole-time Director on its board for a five-year term, subject to regulatory approvals. The appointment will take effect from November 14, a day after Global CEO and Whole-time Director Mohit Malhotra steps down on November 13, citing personal interests.
Malhotra, who has been with Dabur for more than three decades, has accepted a leadership role overseas, according to his resignation letter dated November 3.
The company’s board accepted his resignation at a meeting held on Wednesday.
In his resignation letter, Malhotra said he had joined Dabur as a management trainee and had been part of its journey from a Rs 1,250-crore company to a transnational enterprise with a presence in over 100 countries and revenue of more than Rs 13,000 crore.
He said he was grateful to the Burman family, the board and colleagues for their confidence and the responsibilities entrusted to him over the years.
“I believe this is the right moment in my career to take on a new challenge,” Malhotra said in the letter.
