Google Fi promo gives you 75% off plans—here's how you qualify

Google Fi is now trivially inexpensive, provided you take advantage of a rare deal. Google has a limited-time promotion that cuts 75% off plan prices for a year, but only if you meet certain conditions.

The promo applies to certain Google Play users subscribing to Fi for the first time, Droid-Life has learned. It only applies to one plan per user, and one line. You have until September 29, 2026 to claim the promotion.

We've asked Google for more details and will share if there's an update.

If you do meet the criteria, the savings are substantial. An Unlimited Essentials plan costs just $9 per month (down from $35), while the Unlimited Standard and Unlimited Premium plans respectively cost $13 (normally $50) and $17 (usually $65). You'll save between $312 to $576 over that year, or potentially enough to pay for a Pixel 10a.

You'll know if you're eligible by tapping your Play Points number at the top of the Google Play app. Tap Perks and you should see it further down the screen. From there, you can redeem the promo and sign up for Google Fi.

Google Fi supports both Android and iPhones, so you don't need a specific device to use it. However, there are incentives to choose it over rival carriers if you're a devoted Android fan.

You can get calls, data, and text on a Galaxy Watch or Pixel Watch at no extra charge. If you own a Pixel phone, you'll automatically connect to "select" secure Wi-Fi networks.
