The “Four Seasons” star on Alessandro Michele's "sense of whimsy," shooting in Iceland and "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."
By the time Colman Domingo is getting ready for the Valentino show in Paris, he’s already had two cups of coffee and a stroll around the Tuileries garden, after having just arrived from Iceland, where he was filming the third season of “The Four Seasons.”
“I try to get lost as much as possible,” he says of walking around Paris. “I try to just go into a different direction.”
It is an especially good way to take in the city during fashion week, when the streets become their own runway.
“Everyone’s just bringing the best versions of themselves,” he says of his people watching and fashion spotting. “You see high, you see low, you see streetwear, you see formalwear, you see everything all clashing at the same time. Sometimes on the same body.”
Domingo says he has recently become more dedicated to self care. “I’ve become more into skin care as I entered my mid-50s,” he says. “Because if you’re born with something good, you’ve got to take care of it.”
The actor says he now steams his face in the morning, is more devoted to moisturizer and keeps on top of his hydration. The trip to Iceland was a boon for his beauty regimen, as he took time out to indulge in the country’s famous lagoons and sulfur baths.
He is also conscious of making life easier for his glam squad.
