Available Thursday, the product blends the brand's sleek style with Patinkin's expert beauty approach and marks Skims' first collaboration with a skin care brand.
After launching its Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap last year, Skims is back with another beauty tool.
The apparel and accessories brand — cofounded by Kim Kardashian, Emma Grede and Jens Grede — has tapped makeup artist and innovator Jenny Patinkin to codesign a limited-edition Cryo Glow Globes set, $78, for the holiday season. Available starting Thursday, the glass tools combine Skims’ sleek style with Patinkin’s expert beauty approach, aka the “lazy perfection” method.
“This is like no-brainer beauty tools,” Patinkin told WWD. “I like products where you don’t have to think too hard about it. It just does what it’s supposed to do without a ton of effort.”
The new cryo tools, which are hand-blown with special snowflakes and made with silicone stems, are meant to be refrigerated, laid on ice or run under cold water before being used in lieu of a face roller or a gua sha. The temperature is said to last for roughly 30 to 45 minutes.
“You’re using them to reduce the appearance of puffiness and inflammation on your face. They’re nice for sculpting on the jawline and doing any lymphatic drainage,” Patinkin explained, noting that you don’t have to prep the skin with oil or moisturizer. “You even don’t have to look in a mirror while you’re using these, which to me is a mark of lazy perfection.
