While the Spring/Summer 2027 denim trends seen on the Milan Fashion Week runway focused on early-2000s influences and embellishment, the street style outside the shows was notably more pared back.
Low-rise, slouchy jeans were the unofficial street style uniform of Milan Fashion Week. Off-duty models stepped out in nonchalant style, pairing the jeans with basic tops and simple belts, while fashion show attendees elevated the laidback fits with button-down denim shirts, neckties and colorful knitwear.
Fashion week attendees also embraced more fitted takes on low-rise jeans. One pair of black jeans featured a zip-front construction without a traditional waistband, while cropped jackets styled with low-rise jeans emphasized the return of the bare midriff. The hip-hugging silhouettes also provided a prime opportunity to show off oversized belts and bellybutton piercings.
Others leaned into a more vintage and bohemian aesthetic. One pair of wide-leg blue jeans featured green foliage appliqués, while another attendee paired an eyelet poncho top with embroidered flare jeans and a multicolor belt.
Diesel’s influence was evident in looks ranging from a Diesel x Tom of Finland printed jean jacket to wide-leg jeans, denim miniskirts, dirty washes and black denim with bold whiskering. Women’s jean jackets were fitted and, in some cases, collarless, giving the classic silhouette a more polished look.
Laser finishing added texture and prints to the scene. Needle-punching gave denim jeans a tweed-like appearance, while a laser-printed polka-dot jean jacket popped against lavender layers.
