As Indian consumers gain access to an expanding range of food brands , cuisines and dining formats, sustained growth will increasingly depend on consistency, local relevance and consumer trust rather than constant product innovation alone, according to industry leaders speaking at ET FoodXP 2026 .
During the inaugural panel discussion titled How Do Food Brands Stay Relevant in an Age of Endless Choice?, executives from leading domestic and international food brands examined how businesses can differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market without compromising the qualities that established their identity.
The discussion featured Kevin Johnson, Country Food Manager, IKEA India; Sagar Daryani, Founder, Wow! Momo; Akshay Bector, CMD, Cremica; and Sameer Bhasin, CEO, Nando's. The session was moderated by Amin Ali, Senior Editor, Advisor.
While the panellists represented different segments of the food industry, they broadly agreed that relevance cannot be sustained through new products or aggressive expansion alone. Brands must consistently deliver on their core promises while adapting to changing customer expectations, regional preferences and market conditions.
