Cambrionix is expanding into India and has appointed Intralink to support the move.
The expansion gives the Cambridge company a local team in a market it sees as important for software testing and the processing of used devices.
Cambrionix develops USB connectivity and device management technology used to charge, sync, test and manage large numbers of connected devices simultaneously. Its products are used in software quality assurance, circular technology programmes such as refurbishment and trade-ins, and education technology.
Intralink, an international business development consultancy, will support Cambrionix through its Mumbai-based team. It is expected to identify opportunities across Cambrionix's main sectors and introduce its technology to Indian businesses running large-scale device processing and quality assurance operations.
The move comes as India continues to play a central role in global software testing. A large share of quality assurance work is carried out by Indian development and data centre operations, creating demand for infrastructure that can test software on physical devices rather than emulators.
That demand is rising as AI-assisted coding increases the volume of software being produced. More software means more testing, and in sectors where apps and services must work across many handsets and tablets, businesses often need access to large banks of real devices.
Cambrionix already has more than 1.8 million active ports deployed worldwide. Its systems are designed to let organisations monitor and control device estates remotely through a single platform.
India is also a large market for device trade-ins, buybacks and refurbishment, giving the company a second route for growth.
