Utility giant Tenaga Nasional also added four sen to trade at RM13.00. Energy stocks followed suit, pushing the sector index up 2.57 points to 835.60, while the Plantation Index gained 2.23 points to 9,058.78.

Healthcare provider IHH Healthcare moved against the upward trend, shedding six sen to RM7.74.
