The actor, who has worn Saint Laurent’s boundary-pushing men’s shoes before, attended a screening of the film “Wicker.”
Alexander Skarsgård took a bold fashion risk at the 70th BFI London Film Festival on Thursday by wearing Saint Laurent’s clear men’s shoes that get their name from OnlyFans.
Skarsgård let his feet be seen on the red carpet for the screening of the upcoming film “Wicker,” in which he plays a husband made of wicker. He wore a transparent lace-up dress shoe which hit Saint Laurent’s spring 2027 men’s runway this summer, sparking some conversation for their see-through design. For Skarsgård, the shoes — the label’s Lace-up Derbies in TPU — accompanied Saint Laurent’s jacket, which he wore sans undershirt and the tailored pants in metallic.
While clear heels are popular among women’s heels, they’re an unusual sight in the men’s dress shoe market. But FN has insights on the boundary-pushing style, having recently spoken to Corrado De Biase, Saint Laurent’s freelance design director of men’s and women’s shoes, about the house’s footwear. The clear men’s dress shoe is called O.Fan, the designer explained, inspired by OnlyFans.
De Biase explained that the transparent shoe concept aligned with creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s vision to have the men’s show transition from early-morning light to nighttime.
De Biase said, “And of course it was a joke between us to say, ‘I don’t understand why men are scared to show their feet,’ because there’s a lot of beautiful men that have beautiful feet and like to show it.”
