Once again, Discord has begun rolling out its revamped age-assurance system, which automatically sorts accounts into adult, teen, or unconfirmed age groups. According to Discord's official announcement, the change is arriving this week.

Discord first announced a global age-verification plan in February. However, the company had to delay its implementation after receiving intense backlash. Discord promised to offer more transparency and use less invasive ways to determine who is an adult, but this relaunch appears to have the same basic premise that angered many users in the first place.

Folks at Discord say more than 90% of their users won't have to actively verify their age. Instead, a machine-learning model will examine their behavior on Discord and evaluate account signals to estimate each user's age group.

The things Discord checks to guess your age include when your account was created, the communities and games connected to it, and activity patterns such as how many servers or channels you use.
