Less than one month after a final deal was announced, 1-800-Flowers.com confirmed that the sale of its PersonalizationMall.com and Things Remembered units to PlanetArt is now complete.

1-800-Flowers.com’s sale to the technology platform marks a step forward during a challenging year for the flowers and gifts retailer as it seeks to focus its business priorities and address falling revenue.

1-800-Flowers.com is No. 67 in the Top 1000 Database. The database tracks North America’s leading online retailers based on their annual ecommerce sales and more.

1-800-Flowers.com is also No. 76 in Digital Commerce 360 and ReFiBuy’s AI Commerce Rankings. That set of rankings is available in the Top 1000 Pro with AI Database.

“The sale of PersonalizationMall.com enables us to further sharpen our portfolio focus, strengthen our financial position and create additional capacity to invest in the strategic initiatives we believe offer the greatest opportunity to drive improved performance and long-term growth,” said Adolfo Villagomez, CEO at 1-800-Flowers.com, in a released statement on Sept. 29. “As we continue to simplify our business, we are taking a disciplined approach to where ownership creates strategic value and where partnerships can provide a more efficient way to serve our customers.”

Villagomez framed the move as part of a wider effort to correct course at the company.

“This transaction reflects that approach and provides us with greater financial flexibility as we continue executing our transformation and positioning the Company for sustainable, profitable growth,” he stated.
