Standard Solar has acquired two solar projects in Washington from OneEnergy Renewables, marking the companies’ first projects together in the state. The projects — Palouse Junction in Connell and Cunningham in Othello — will bring a combined 15.79 MW of new ground-mounted solar capacity to eastern Washington.
The acquisitions reflect Standard Solar’s continued growth in distributed generation and community-scale solar markets, while also highlighting the important role rural utilities are playing in the clean energy transition. The projects’ offtakers, Franklin Public Utility District and Big Bend Electric Cooperative, demonstrate how local utilities are embracing renewable energy to strengthen their power supply, support long-term energy planning and deliver locally generated clean electricity to their communities.
“Rural utilities are essential partners in expanding access to clean energy,” said Eric Partyka, Director of Business Development, Standard Solar. “These projects are an important example of how local utilities can bring the benefits of renewable energy directly to the communities they serve. We are proud to expand our presence in Washington and to work with OneEnergy Renewables on projects that support practical, locally driven clean energy growth.”
Located in Connell, Washington, the 12.1-MW Palouse Junction project is expected to produce approximately 22,339 MWh of electricity in its first year. Franklin Public Utility District will serve as the project’s offtaker. The project is expected to be completed in Q1 of 2027.
69 MW Cunningham project, located in Othello, Washington, is expected to produce approximately 6,917 MWh of electricity in its first year. Big Bend Electric Cooperative will serve as the project’s offtaker.
