French carbon capture provider Revcoo has partnered with recycled zinc producer Reazn to deploy its proprietary CarbonCloud technology at an alloy production facility in Kruisem, Belgium.
The project targets an annual capture capacity of between 5,000 and 8,000 tons of CO2. The deal marks Revcoo’s entry into the metals manufacturing sector following early deployments across the lime and cement industries.
The partners are initiating a joint technical and economic feasibility study, to be followed by front-end engineering design pending a positive evaluation. Full operational deployment at the Kruisem plant is scheduled for late 2028.
Revcoo’s CarbonCloud system utilizes a fully electric cryogenic process to isolate CO2 from industrial flue gas. By freezing and conditioning the CO2 without chemical solvents or water, the technology yields a high-purity (99.99%) liquid or gaseous CO2 product capable of direct containerization for transport, utilization, or permanent storage.
Because the unit conditions CO2 directly on-site without requiring solvent reclamation or heavy water inputs, the installation operates independently of centralized CO2 pipeline networks.
“CarbonCloud is a promising solution because it integrates directly into our manufacturing process without disrupting operations and with a very low industrial risk profile,” said Jean Gouverneyre, Co-CEO of Reazn.
The high-purity output allows Reazn to evaluate both commercial utilization pathways and permanent geological storage without requiring extensive downstream processing.
“Beyond this future installation, an entire sector is preparing for the transition towards a net-zero industry across Europe,” added Hugo Lucas, Founder and President of Revcoo, noting that the project validates cryogenic capture for hard-to-abate industrial emissions that cannot be eliminated solely through operational process changes.
