Italy has allocated all available funding under the latest round of its Agrisolare scheme, awarding €770.4 million in grants to 7,409 projects for approximately 505 MW of rooftop solar capacity on agricultural, livestock and agro-industrial buildings.
The Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), Italy’s energy services manager, published the list of approved projects under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) measure, which implements a decree issued by the Ministry of Agriculture on Dec. 17, 2025.
Three additional lists published by GSE show that 1,863 eligible applications were not funded because the budget had been exhausted. These applications represent €187.3 million in requested grants and approximately 170 MW of solar capacity.
A further 7,610 applications were deemed ineligible, representing €775.4 million in requested grants. Another 37 applicants withdrew, accounting for €3.9 million.
In total, the scheme received 16,919 applications seeking approximately €1.74 billion in grants — more than twice the amount awarded. Around 45% of applications failed the eligibility checks, and the value of grants sought by ineligible applicants exceeded the amount allocated to successful projects.
In May, Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida told the Senate that approximately 16,000 businesses had applied, with around 8,000 expected to receive funding in an initial phase. He said the government hoped to find additional resources for the remaining applicants.
8% of the total funding, for 92 MW of solar capacity. 6 million across 633 projects. 5 million.
