Aermec presents high-temperature water-to-water heat pumps with up to 889 kW heating capacity

Italian heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturer Aermec has launched two ranges of high-temperature water-to-water heat pumps designed for industrial heating, centralized heating systems and building refurbishment projects.

The HWSG_H series offers heating capacities from approximately 145 kW to 450 kW and can produce hot water at temperatures of up to 80 C. The larger WFGN_H series provides heating capacities ranging from approximately 443 kW to 889 kW, with maximum water outlet temperatures of 85 C, according to the manufacturer.

The HWSG_H units are available with one or two refrigerant circuits, depending on the model. They feature inverter-controlled screw compressors, electronic expansion valves and plate heat exchangers on both the source and heating sides. The dual-circuit configuration is designed to improve operational continuity and performance under partial-load conditions.

The WFGN_H range comprises five dual-compressor models equipped with screw compressors and shell-and-tube heat exchangers. Aermec said the configuration enables greater heating capacity, improved redundancy and more flexible load management.

The WFGN_H heat pumps can operate with either R1234ze refrigerant, classified as A2L with a global warming potential (GWP) below 2, or R515B, an A1 refrigerant with a GWP below 300. The manufacturer noted that the R1234ze configuration requires additional safety measures related to refrigerant leak detection and ventilation. Aermec

Both refrigerant configurations are available with electronic expansion valves and in standard or acoustically enclosed low-noise versions. An optional four-pass condenser is also available for applications requiring higher water temperature differences and lower flow rates.

Aermec said the new heat pumps are particularly suited to industrial processes and the replacement of conventional boilers in existing buildings where high-temperature radiators or other heating terminals are retained.
