Apple has reportedly increased its iPhone Duo orders by 30%

A new report by Securities Times in China indicates Apple is now anticipating much higher demand for iPhone Duo than initially expected, despite pre-orders not starting until later this week.

Apple launches iPhone Duo pre-orders this Friday, October 16. And you’ll be able to start your pre-order process for the fastest checkout later today.

But despite pre-orders not being live yet, Apple seems to be anticipating significantly higher demand for iPhone Duo than its initial estimates.

According to a report from China’s Securities Times, Apple has increased its orders for iPhone Duo in the supply chain by a massive 30%.

The report says total supply for the remainder of 2026 still doesn’t exceed 10 million units. But based on prior estimates of 6-7 million units being produced, it’s likely that the new target number is close to 10 million.

Clearly, Apple is seeing a better than expected response to the iPhone Duo since its unveiling last month. And its planned retail push adds more evidence to support that.

Supply chain sources also tell Securities Times that iPhone 18 Pro Max orders have increased by 10-15% and iPhone 18 Pro orders have been reduced by 10-15%. The total supply targets for the iPhone 18 Pro line overall are ultimately unchanged, however, contradicting a recent Nikkei Asia report.
