Tether backs AIsa to support AI payments and programmable money

Tether Capital said it invested in AIsa, a platform for AI agents to pay for data, software and compute using fiat or stablecoins.

Tether Capital said it has made a strategic investment in AIsa, a company that lets AI agents access and pay for data, software and computing services. The move extends Tether’s recent push into digital payments infrastructure tied to automated AI workflows and programmable money.

In its announcement dated 15 October 2026, Tether said AIsa is designed to reduce friction when AI agents need paid services that are normally set up for human users. The company said developers can connect agents to AI models, data, APIs, software tools and computing resources through a single interface, with usage billed in fiat or stablecoins and spending limits set by the business.

Tether quoted chief executive Paolo Ardoino as saying the company wants people to have access to knowledge and financial tools, and that as AI agents take on more work, users need a way to grant service access while controlling spending. The announcement said Tether sees AIsa as infrastructure for that use case.

AIsa said it has more than 250,000 agents running on its platform and over 100 million transactions processed. It also said its network provides access to more than 5,000 APIs, skills and models through one key, with payment per call rather than separate vendor contracts. Those figures were provided by AIsa in Tether’s announcement.

The deal adds to a pattern in Tether Capital’s recent activity. On 13 October 2026, Tether announced an investment in EFY Finance to accelerate institutional stablecoin usage in Latin America.
