NVIDIA says Minerva targets AI-factory telemetry gaps and GPU yield

NVIDIA says Minerva unifies AI-factory telemetry, correlates incidents and uses agentic debugging to reduce noise and preserve GPU hours.

NVIDIA on Oct. 26, 2026 said its Minerva AIOps platform is designed to turn fragmented AI-factory telemetry into more actionable incidents, with the aim of reducing downtime and preserving useful GPU hours. The company said the system is built for environments where synchronous training jobs can slow to the pace of the weakest component and where subtle faults can waste compute across otherwise healthy resources.

In a technical blog published on Oct. 26, 2026, NVIDIA described AI factories as large-scale operational environments that combine GPUs, Spectrum-X Ethernet fabrics, NVLink scale-up fabrics, schedulers and storage systems. The company said conventional rule-based monitoring struggles with gray failures, in which components remain available but degrade under load or relative to peer systems. NVIDIA said Minerva addresses that gap by ingesting telemetry across GPUs, switches, SuperNICs, DPUs, storage, NCCL, schedulers and workloads, then mapping those relationships into a dynamic knowledge graph.

According to NVIDIA, Minerva processes metrics and logs with supervised and unsupervised models to detect known fault patterns and previously unseen anomalies. The platform also uses topology-aware correlation to group dependent symptoms into a single incident rather than leaving operators to reconcile separate alerts. NVIDIA said this is intended to reduce alert noise and narrow the search space for root-cause analysis, while keeping job placement and failure-domain context current as workloads move across the environment.

The company said Minerva includes a native AI assistant called Sherlock, grounded in live telemetry and the knowledge graph, and an MCP server that can expose the same operational context to external agentic tools.
