Anthropic filed for an IPO on Monday morning, aiming to take the AI giant public in November.
The prospectus showed first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion and a net loss of $80.7 billion. Share count and price range remain undisclosed. Previous reports have suggested a raise of as much as $100 billion at a $2 trillion valuation.
“We believe that AI is one of the most consequential technologies in human history,” said the company. “If managed well, it could rapidly accelerate scientific innovation, greatly increase economic growth rates, bring cures for major diseases within reach, and solve problems that have resisted generations of human effort.”
Later in the risk factors: “Advanced AI systems could, if not developed, deployed, and operated with appropriate safeguards, oversight, and security measures, pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity, particularly if such systems were misused, replicated, weaponized, or allowed to operate with a high degree of autonomy.”
The Claude developer held $112.4 billion in cash and equivalents, plus $19.3 billion in short-term investments as of June 30. Nevertheless, it expects infrastructure investment to increase significantly, putting pressure on future cash flows.
Enterprise adoption has expanded rapidly. By Sept. 30, more than 1,900 customers had generated at least $1 million in trailing annual revenue, including approximately 250 that generated more than $10 million.
Chip stocks rose in pre-market trading after the filing, with NVDA and AVGO up 1.4% and 1.5%, respectively, while Micron (MU) rose by 2.3%.
On the crypto exchange Hyperliquid, traders can already bet on Anthropic’s expected share price before it lists, using a contract called ANTH.
