Thomas Dohmke, the former CEO of web-based developer platform GitHub, has launched a competing platform for AI agents.
With his new startup Entire, Dohmke has launched an alternative to GitHub that allows developers to use the platform for hosting and reviewing code but is designed specifically to work with AI agents, the Verge reported.
Entire replaces the standard pull request model available at GitHub, using which developers propose and review code changes, with the ‘Trails’ feature. Trails allows “customizable evals that are scored by agents on every code push,” Dohmke said in a blog post.
On October 26, the company unveiled Git forge, a service for hosting code, reviewing changes and running builds. The feature is designed for teams whose AI agents write code faster than people can review it.
The announcement comes two days before GitHub’s annual Universe conference in San Francisco, Geek Wire reported.
On Entire's platform, multiple AI agents check the quality of every change, so developers can merge code without reading every line. A person’s sign-off or automated tests can be enabled before any code goes in.
Entire is letting developers host private code repositories directly on its service in Europe, the US, India and Australia.
A new concept promised by the company is continuous memory, which allows AI agents to search past coding sessions for the reasoning behind earlier changes. Parts of the feature, Entire Graph and Entire Brain, use up to 71% fewer tokens, Dohmke said in a LinkedIn post.
Entire’s launch comes as GitHub i s struggling under the load from AI agents and has faced several outages over the past few months.
