The Team Behind ‘Deadstream’ Will Turn to Reddit Horror Next

Sometimes you catch a movie so entertaining and memorable that you make a point of following the filmmakers to their next project. That’s what happened in 2022 with Deadstream, directed by Joseph and Vanessa Winter. It happened to release right around the time of V/H/S/99, which also featured a segment directed by the Winters (with Joseph also starring in both found-footage projects). Clearly, these guys were talents to watch, balancing simple yet strong story ideas with humor and gross-out moments, not to mention genuine frights.

In 2025, it was announced that the Winters would next work on a new Amityville Horror movie (not to be confused with the other Amityville Horror movie in the works from director David F. Sandberg). But now we have news of another Winters-made movie on the way, and this one sounds even more intriguing than whatever their take on that familiar haunted house might turn out to be.

In a press release touting a multi-picture deal struck between Longevity Pictures, Spooky Pictures, and Nation Studios, it’s confirmed that the Winters will write and direct Future Me, described as a “psychological horror-thriller.”

If that title sounds familiar, you might be someone who haunts the eerier corners of Reddit: “ Future Me is based on the viral Reddit short story by Daria Vasileva, originally published in the ‘NoSleep’ subreddit, the renowned online community dedicated to user-generated horror fiction.
